Watermill Dam

Norfolk Island: Watermill dam in Arthur's Vale was built in 1795 by Nathaniel Lucas, a convict, to supply water to a mill. It is a rock faced earthen dam. The dam was breached in the mid-1900's to grow vegetables in the pond, but in 1969 the silt was cleared out and the
dam wall repaired (source: Kingston and Arthur's Vale Historic Area Management Plan, Draft Final, February 2008).
